How to Use Dry Brush to Add Excitement to Your Watercolor Paintings

Aug 25, 2021

In this week's video, I am talking about dry brush technique.

It is one of the greatest tools that we have as watercolor painters.

It can really add motion, life, and excitement to your paintings. You can suggest detail with a few marks. And since it gives you a way to create texture, it can be used to bring an area forward in your painting or to provide contrast with the soft, smooth washes.

Also, if you haven't seen my free video, lesson: Eight Tips to Avoid Overworking Your Painting, take a look at it! You can follow the link below or you can get to it in my bio on Instagram. I've gotten some great feedback from this video lesson, and I’d love to hear from you too!
