Painting Bright Light in Watercolor (A step-by-step tutorial)
May 11, 2022Today, I am teaching how to paint bright light in watercolor. It all comes down to values. We must paint dark enough in order for the light to be present.
Here are a few things to keep in mind.
1. Paint a little darker than you think you need to. The strength will fade as the paper dries.
2. Use fresh paint in scenes that require stronger values. This will allow you to mix stronger washes.
3. Keep your light source front of mind throughout the painting to ensure that your values are correct.
